steve mazurowski
steve mazurowski began playing guitar in 1986 after being inspired by led zeppelin and pink floyd. groups that he has performed with include the rock bands "compromize" and "denizen," jazz groups "the one a.m. quartet" and "blue planet," and the difficult to categorize duo, "guitar duo eclectico." he has also performed hundreds of freelance gigs throughout the chicagoland area as a solo player and with various other groups since 1988 (recitals, weddings, private parties, restaurants, coffee houses, clubs, churches, book stores, conventions, conferences, etc.).

steve earned his B.A. in music from north park college. while at north park he studied classical guitar with doug anderson. he has also studied jazz privately with frank dawson, jack cecchini, david onderdonk and john moulder. one of his most important teachers though, is his record/tape/cd collection.

steve's influences include pink floyd, peter gabriel, led zeppelin, sting/the police, joe satriani, john scofield, bill frisell, pierre bensusan, steven wright, gary larson and pretty much anything that he has ever listened to and liked.

steve has taught hundreds of students out of his home as well as in the maine township high schools since 1992, and is currently the private guitar instructor at maine west high school in des plaines.

steve is the music director at first free church in chicago.
